We all know this joke above or we do have experience with 'we let you know phrases' from HR departments or headhunters and than nothing happened.
So, it's time to do it yourself and establish your own brand, that in the end companies will apply by you and not you by companies.
Yes, we are in a change, we all know, since 4 years, but HR and headhunting changes slowly, especially, if your are living not in the US, South Korea or the Netherlands, my personal top innovative countries.
3 things you have to think of and try it out, and I am sure it will work to establish your own brand, but you need passion and time to come to results and the best ist, you start establishing this 'own branding', when you are locky at work and not when you are looking for a job.
In these times it can take 3-6 month finding a new job, and if you do earlier, you are just a 'lucky person', but it's not normal.
So start now, working on these 3 things:
We Headhunters and Recruiters mostly focus on finding people for jobs, because for this they get paid for and not vice-verca, finding jobs for people, because it's more difficult and a lot of unpaid work. Maybe this will change, if matching software will be more efficient in best practice, but there we are just at the beginning (semantic search).
Some more infos to my 3 points:
Sending your cv to many headhunters and companies is also an option, but don't expect to much response, because they are not the 2nd department of the employment office, but if you are a smart brand, they will like you and also try to bring you into new jobs, sometimes... ;-)
If you work on this 3 things for 4-6 weeks, you will have the basement for your career and business networking. I am sure, that there will be good results, which lead to success and when you are in a job, take you time for 1 hour per week to wide your network constantly.
Self branding will be more important in future and now it's just starting, afte the time of employer branding at companies. Be your own brand.
